Curator: Varda Genosar, The Herzliya Artists’ Residence
This series is my interpretation of the restoration area of the waste site of Hiriya. In it I refer to 19th-century landscape paintings, except that here, the sublime landscape is substituted by a mound of garbage. The landscape in these photographs conceals piles of un-compost-able waste and foul gasses rising into the atmosphere. And yet, this man-made landscape provokes in me the same excitement as nature.
